The S5 focuses on aerodynamic performance and stiffness, making it a preferred base for the world’s fastest sprinters. But don’t think that’s all – despite the lateral stiffness, the S5 offers an incredibly comfortable ride. No doubt you’ve noticed the now legendary V-shaft. Cervelo has tweaked this shape to deliver the best possible performance in the wind, hide the cables inside and make enough bar/stem/stack options to fit pretty much everyone.

When you get on an S5, you won’t just ride fast, you’ll feel fast. The stiffness of the frame, geometry, build and tube shapes combine to make a bike that’s comfortable enough to spend all day on the road, but responds to last-second acceleration better than anything else. It’s suitable for 28mm tyres so you can fit the newer, wider rim/tyre combinations that help you achieve an even greater aero advantage.

True Aero
TrueAero combines special tube shapes, sizes and design features to improve airflow across the entire bike. The application of TrueAero is specifically tailored to each of the bikes and their intended use.

Seatpost with additional cut-out
The auxiliary cut-out seatpost is a close-fitting curve in the seat tube that shields the leading edge of the rear tyre to significantly improve aerodynamic performance.

BBright
Cervelo developed BBright to take advantage of the fact that oversized frame tubes are stiffer and lighter. The BBright system uses larger tubes in the seat tube, down tube and left chainstay. The advantage is increased stiffness and pedalling performance with a lighter frame. BBright is compatible with all common bottom bracket standards.

Less drag, higher speeds
Aerodynamics are crucial to the development of a fast bike: aerodynamic drag accounts for as much as 90% of the total drag that can affect the rider. They have improved the aerodynamics of the S5 Disc through special frame tube shapes and design elements, so you benefit from lower drag.

No unnecessary effort
The stiffness of the S5 is a sprinter’s dream. Through a combination of material, shape and layup, they’ve designed the S5 to be stiffer at both the steering head and bottom bracket – the former for predictable handling, the latter to transfer more of your power to the rear wheel.
